I just got off the phone with Lance Mackay and he is very concerned you guys may try to join the Iditarod next year, he thinks you are too fast for him.

Congratulations, I have the desire to get back to it and as this is a fun trip and I feel I'm missing out. However the the old Super Cub is just a bit slow.

Aaaaand another Eagle made it to Icy Bay, thus becoming a member of the small group of Eagles that made it through the whole 1.407 nautical miles of The Great Alaskan Tour's Southeast! 8-)

So....
Who's the Eagle who made it in 44 days, 15 hours and 1 minute?!
Starting TGAT on 2008-05-06 at 00:10 local, and arriving at Icy Bay on 2008-06-19 at 15:02 local, I call for a round of applause to ....!

Sometimes, I just come to the Logbooks a few days later, when I have the time to just sit back and relax the reading - but I'm very aware that can be frustratring for the pilots and wouldn't like it to happen with anyone (and it just did with Larry and Daniele! My appologies, Aviators! 8-)

And it was about time that another Eagle would complete the Part I of The Great Alaskan Tour! 8-)

And so I give you...

AW651 Joey “Twister” Helms, who started Part I of TGAT on 2009-01-26 at 1237Z, and finished Part I on 2009-04-27 at 0332Z, Completing the Southeast in 90 days, 14 hours(s) and 55 minute(s)!

So Joey, this is for you, hope you like it ...!

And I'll take this opportunity to state again that TGAT isn't dead! This weekend I intend to restart my own Tour - just like Hunter did, he got me thinking ...!
For once it has been too long since my last flight - and on the other hand that will get me in tune again with all that is required to resume my work.

The Great Alaskan Tour will be 5 Parts long and will cover the entire state of Alaska 8-)

And to all Pilots on the trail here's a reminder to send me a PM once you complete each of TGAT Parts, so I can work your banner.
